This guide explains the basics of snapshot recording, including how it works, how to enable the feature, how to adjust the daytime capture interval, and how to access your recorded snapshots.
What Is Snapshot Recording?
When no motion is detected, the camera wakes up at regular intervals to take snapshots, which are then compiled into a smooth time-based playback.
What Are the Benefits of Snapshot Recording?
- Combines event recording and snapshot recording to provide continuous, timeline-based playback. Even when no motion is detected, you can still review the recorded footage from the past.
- Compared to cameras that use only event recording for 24/7 coverage, our systems that combine event and snapshot recording are significantly more energy-efficient.
How to Enable Snapshot Recording?
To enable this feature:
- Open the Safemo app and go to the Home page.
- Tap the camera settings gear icon.
- Tap Snapshot Recording.
- Enable Snapshot Recording.
How to Set the Snapshot Interval?
When the camera is in night vision mode, snapshots are automatically captured every 10 seconds. This interval is fixed and cannot be adjusted.
During the daytime, you can set how often snapshots are taken by following these steps:
- Open the Safemo app and go to the Home page.
- Tap the camera settings gear icon.
- Tap Snapshot Recording.
- Enable Snapshot Recording.

Tap Daytime Capture Interval, then choose one of the following options:
- 10 seconds
- 5 seconds
- 2 seconds
- 1 second
Note: Shorter intervals increase power consumption. Please select an interval that best suits your monitoring and battery preferences.
How to View Snapshot Recordings?
- Open the Safemo app and go to the Home page.
- Tap the Camera Feed to enter the livestream view.
- Tap the history icon at the bottom of the screen.
Alternatively, you can tap the history icon directly from the Camera Card on the Home page.
Note: Snapshot recordings do not include audio.
