This guide is designed to help you understand your Safemo camera's quality settings and achieve the best possible visual performance from your system.
Supported Quality Options for Livestreams, Recordings, and Snapshots
Safemo cameras support different resolutions depending on the mode of use:
-
Livestream: 4K / SD / Auto
- If you select Auto, the system will automatically adjust the livestream quality based on your network condition.
- Under strong and stable network conditions, livestreaming will display in 4K. If the connection is weak, it will downgrade to SD to ensure smooth playback.
- Recording: 4K / SD
- Snapshot: Fixed at 720p
How to Adjust Livestream Quality?
To set the resolution for livestream, please follow these steps below:
- Open the Safemo app.
- On the Home page, tap the live view window of your camera.
- Tap the 4K/SD/Auto icon in the top-right corner of the livestream screen to select your preferred resolution.
Note: If your network is unstable or weak, selecting 4K may result in long loading times or failure to load the livestream. In such cases, we recommend using SD or Auto to ensure smooth viewing.
How to Adjust Recording Quality?
To set the resolution for recording, please follow these steps below:
- Open the Safemo app.
- Go to the Home page.
- Tap the camera settings gear icon.
- Navigate to Video > Video Resolution.
- Select either 4K or SD.
Note: If your network connection is unstable or weak, recorded videos may be uploaded at a lower bitrate, which can result in reduced image quality—even when 4K resolution is selected.
How to Ensure the Best Quality?
To maximize the visual performance of your Safemo camera, we recommend following these best practices:
-
Maintain a stable network connectionReliable video quality depends greatly on a strong and consistent internet connection.
-
Keep the camera lens cleanDust, smudges, or fingerprints on the lens can lead to blurry or distorted images. Use a clean, dry, and non-abrasive cloth to gently wipe the lens as part of your regular maintenance routine.
-
Avoid direct exposure to strong light sourcesPositioning the camera directly toward intense light—such as sunlight—can cause overexposure, which reduces image clarity and detail.
-
Minimize reflective surfaces near the cameraNearby reflective materials, like metal panels or glass, can create glare or light distortion that negatively impacts video quality.
