This feature requires Safemo app version 1.1.0 or higher and the latest device firmware to function properly. Make sure your app and firmware are up to date to access all the features of Multi-Cam Tracking.
Viewing Multi-Cam Tracking Videos:
Once the Multi-Cam Tracking extension is enabled, the hub's AI analyzes faces or bodies from recordings.
On the activity playback page, individuals detected by the cameras are displayed. Each face or body image associated with a multi-cam tracking event is marked with a special icon to indicate this. If a person appears on multiple cameras within a short period, clicking on their icon-highlighted image will display the multi-cam tracking video.
The timeline includes colored blocks—blue and gray—representing the presence of the detected person:
-
Blue Part: Indicates segments where the person is visible in the video. The system defaults to playing these segments first, automatically skipping parts where the person may not be present.
-
Gray Part: Suggests intervals where the person may not be visible.
You can click on any segment in the timeline to play the full event recording, providing a comprehensive view of the activity detected.
Troubleshooting: Why Can't I See Multi-Cam Tracking Videos?
Environmental and Setup Issues:
-
Unsuitable Viewing Angles: If the camera's tilt angle is too steep, it may not capture clear images necessary for recognition.Advice: Adjust the position and angle of the camera. We recommended hanging the camera 7-10 ft(2-3m) above the ground.
-
Lighting Conditions: Inadequate lighting can impair the camera's tracking and recognition capabilities, especially in night vision mode.Advice: Enhance lighting where possible.
-
Blocked View: Obstacles may obscure the camera's view, preventing clear identification.Advice: Clear or rearrange barriers to ensure an unobstructed view.
-
Blurry Images: Individuals may appear blurry due to high camera mounting, excessive distance, or lens fogging.Advice: Lower the camera, reduce the distance to paths, and clean the lens.
Settings:
-
Software and Firmware Updates: Ensure your app is updated to version 1.1.0 and devices have the latest firmware.
-
Consistent Video Encoding: Confirm all cameras under the hub use the same format, AVC or HEVC. For "Works with Alexa" compatibility, set to AVC only.Adjustment: Navigate to Camera Settings → Video → Video Encoding.
-
Enable Motion Detection: Motion detection should be on to capture activity effectively.Adjustment: Set recording duration to 15, 20, or 60 seconds at Camera Settings → Motion Detection → Recording Duration.
-
Camera Setup: Multi-Cam Tracking requires at least two cameras.Adjustment: Install cameras in diverse locations under your hub to minimize overlapping views.
